Here are the recipes we have received thus far this morning starting with my two drinks.  Keep sending them in and we’ll keep posting them.

Ryan’s Egg Nog Recipe

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups milk
  • 2 teaspoons rum extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup whipping cream — beaten until stiff

Beat eggs, sugar, and salt in top of double boiler or heavy pan. Add milk; mix and cook, stirring frequently, until mixture barely coats a metal spoon. Chill.

Stir in extract and nutmeg. Fold in stiffly beaten whipping cream. Pour immediately into glasses and serve. Sprinkle lightly with nutmeg, if desired.

With this recipe every year, I make caramel-pecan rolls to take to all of the neighbors. This will make up enough for me to roll up 3 pie pans full; I usually make at least 3 batches.  This can be made into cinnamon rolls also.
To make this the way Mom did, after it has risen, I would “cut” the dough with a glass & put each piece in a cinnamon-sugar mixture, heavy on thecinnamon side.  Bake at 375 for 12-15 minutes in the small, greased aluminum foil pans, standing each circle vertical. Check the timing since this is for other rolls, but I’m sure it will work for this also.
Cyndi emailed in her White Chocolate Bark Recipe.  Sounds absolutely wonderful.
Melt 1 (12 oz.) bag of white chocolate chips
Add 2 Tablespoons of peanut butter, stir well.
Add 1 cup of rice krispies and 1 cup of spanish peanuts. Mix together.
Add 1 cup of miniature marshmallows and stir just until mixed.
As quickly as possible, drop teaspoonfuls onto a cookie sheet lined with waxed paper.
Put in refrigerator for about 5 minutes so the chocolate will set up.  These are yummy!!
We have made this recipe at Christmas time for the last 30 years. I hope everyone enjoys 🙂
